Good Works

For the fourth year in a row, Sunrider employees traded their office mugs for candy buckets as they volunteered at Momentum Pediatric Therapy Network’s Sensory-Friendly Trick-or-Treat event on October 29, 2025, at the organization’s Torrance, California, center.

This annual tradition has become one of the most meaningful days of the year for Sunrider’s team. Volunteers say there’s nothing quite like watching a shy wave transform into a confident high-five, or seeing a child beam with pride after choosing a treat. Those tiny triumphs are the moments that bring everyone back year after year.

Sunrider team members handed out healthy snacks, sensory toys, and plenty of encouragement to toddlers from Momentum’s Leaps & Bounds Early Intervention program and the Momentum Early Head Start program. The children—ages 18 months to three years—include little ones with developmental delays, disabilities, medical needs, and families living below the poverty line.

Why Sensory-Friendly Trick-or-Treating?

Instead of crowded, noisy trick-or-treating, children experience Halloween in a calm, structured, supportive setting, designed to help them practice developmental skills such as: eye contact, language and social communication, high-fives to build gross motor skills, and holding and grasping treats to build fine motor skills.

Sunrider is honored to continue supporting Momentum Pediatric Therapy Network through hands-on volunteerism and community partnership. Halloween may be about costumes and candy, but for these families and Sunrider’s team, it’s also about connection, compassion, and celebrating every milestone.
